in the spirit of friendship, as the people

of japan have always welcomed me.

i hope that together, we send a message

to the world that there is more

to be won in peace than war ;

that reconciliation carries more rewards than retribution.

安倍首相、私はここで友情の精神をもって、

日本国民がいつも私を歓迎してくれたように歓迎します。

平和から得られるものは戦争よりも多く、

和解は往復よりも大きな見返りをもたらすという

メッセージを、共に世界へ発信したいと思います。
